Quick Movie Review: So I Married An Axe Murderer (1993)
So I Married An Axe Murderer (1993)
Bottomline: Funny and, at times, downright hilarious. Great doughnut movie.
Where Can I See This Movie? It's available for rent on DVD.
QMR Opinion: Yes, this movie is a little long. Yes, it gets a little tedious. No, Mike Myers is not the best actor on the planet when he is playing himself. But this movie is funny most of the time and hilarious in parts. Myers plays Charlie, a young man who has had a rough time with love. Then he falls in love with Harriet, who may actually be a serial killer. The story is fairly thin but it leaves room for a slew of good folks to have some fun: Mike Myers as his Scottish Father; Nancy Travis as Harriet; Anthony LaPaglia as Tony the detective; Amanda Plummer as Rose; Brenda Fricker as Charlie's mom; and then special appearances by Charles Grodin, Steve Wright and a particularly funny Phil Hartman.
