QMR Opinion: Look, there is a list of movies that I have that I rent when the wife is out of town. This movie was on the list. Why? I enjoy a good, gratuitously violent kung fu movie every now and again. Ninja Assassin more than provided that escape for me. The first five minutes of the movie sets up what's coming next. One minute an Asian gangster is laughing and the next he is missing half his head. The karate is terrific. The production work is solid -- great slo-mo action with terrific kung fu weaponry and plenty of computer-generated blood spray.
